Reading Reflection #2

This book that I'm reading is called "Hey L'il D! Take the Court." This book is about 4 friends who like to play basketball on the school court. Then, some bullies tried to steal the court from L'il and his friends. The bullies made a deal. If the 4 friends don't play on the court for 2 or 3 weeks, they'll get to take the court back only by challenging the bullies to a game. If the 4 friends win, they get to take the court back forever, and if they lose they can't play on it anymore. At the very end of the book, L'il D and his friends made 2 new friends to play basketball with.

I like this book because this book has basketball and I really love basketball. And L'il D's dad plays basketball and my Dad plays basketball, too. I would recommend this book for other kids to read. I will give this book a 7 out of 10 rating.

It sounds like a good book for you. I like basketball too. My fiance plays basketball and I enjoy going to watch his matches.

What reading strategies did you use while you were reading this book? Did you use visualization to help you picture what was happening while you were reading? Did you use context clues to help you figure out what some of the new words in the story meant? Did the characters in the book learn a lesson? If they did, what was the lesson? Often the lesson of a book is the author's message.

I love your blog. Keep reading!
